What's Going on With Batia? Take a look ...

 Hi Everyone!

So far 2020 has been the year of all years. We started out with a bang! We quit smoking….that in itself was a wonderful accomplishment for Jim and me.

I wasn’t at the tasting room very often during January and February due to my recurring back pain (more on that later).

In February we had a small Ice Cream Social with cake and Ice cream celebrating Jim’s March 16 and my February 15 birthdays. We played Pin the Cork on the Bottle and had the Karaoke Machine all fired up and working like a charm!

On March 5 I had major reconstructive spine surgery. It has been a long recovery but I am feeling so much better than I did before the surgery! If I had to have surgery, it was at the perfect time because 10 days later we went into lockdown and we couldn’t go anywhere or do anything which matched my post op orders.

Throughout this entire isolation period, Blayne and Monique have continued to work for Batia Vineyards as we tried to keep “business as unusual” for the time being! We offered free shipping for our valued customers along with several bottle and case specials. We will continue the specials through June because, guess what! We are now open at the Old Sugar Mill in the Boiler Room. Some things have changed but the important things have not changed! We have excellent and award winning wines, we have excellent service and we have our precious Vino there to greet each and every one of you!

To bring you right up to date! Last evening, we had our first Virtual Wine Tasting - “Sips and Dips” on Zoom. We had 51 fellow zoomers and a great time was had by all!. There was a nominal charge and that included 5 vials of wine, some chocolate morsels, recipes for the dips we recommended, a savings coupon, tasting notes and blank tasting notes for our zoomers to fill out, We hand delivered the Tasting Kits to everyone’s home. It was a great event and we have had really great feedback! If you missed out on “Sips and Dips”, keep on the lookout for our next Zoom event….Rumor has it that its will be “Pairing with Pasta,” The tasting kits will be available at our tasting room at the Sugar Mill or in Cameron Park at the vineyard. We have already begun working on this and will keep you posted as to the fee and date for this event.

Let’s make the second half of 2020 super wonderful! We can do that with your help…

Thank you for your loyalty!

Barbara
